A Camping we will go, A Camping we will go!!

Last weekend, Memorial Day, we went camping. It was Kaylin's first camping trip. She loved being outside. Lindsey is an old pro at camping. We kind of camped with the Meredith's but they were on the other side of the park. We got together and ate dinner two of the 3 nights we camped. Well, here goes the story, as always you can count on something happening when we all go camping. To start Saturday morning we woke up and it was kind of cloudy, Jeff was going fishing and Lindsey went with him. Well, they had not been gone 5 minutes and you could here thunder off in the distance. Kaylin and I were sitting at the table, she was eating chocolate donuts, and we were thinking "We are fixin' to get wet". So I gathered everything up so it would not get soaked and we made it to the camper just in time. The skies opened up, Jeff and Lindsey are not back yet. Then all of a sudden a lighting bolt, and I could see the flash clearly out the door and then the biggest crack of thunder you have ever heard. Jeff and Lindsey are still out on the water. But it was not a couple of minutes and they were safe inside the camper with Kaylin and I. After all that excitement we ate breakfast the skies cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Sunday we woke up and it was nice. Later in the day after lunch time went out on Dusty and Jill's new boat. It is a very nice boat and there is room for all 8 of us. We started out and we were going to meet some other friends that had come out for the day just to cruise the lake. Once we met up with them we turned around and saw a storm brewing behind us. So just as fast we made to our friends we turned and went back to camp. To make it a little more exciting Dusty noticed that the boat started taking on water. So after the rain blew over Jeff helped Dusty get it fixed. They came over to our camp site to eat dinner , then we decided to take a boat ride. After a little bit we stopped and coaxed the Lindsey and Cadyn to jump in the water to swim. It was cold but they had fun. It started getting dark so we decided to head back to camp, then the boat would not start. We sat there for a little bit. Lindsey and Cadyn stated getting scared and we told them Jeff can fix anything. He tried but no luck, then our silent prayers were answered. A boat was heading for us and it just so happens it was a guy that Jeff used to work with at the Ford dealership. They pulled us for a little while, then we were able to get the boat started. Then Monday moring more storms rolled through, we thought we were going to have to pack everything up in pouring rain, but by the time we finished with breakfast it had stopped. It is a running joke, that if you want it to rain have us, Dusty and Jill go camping and it will rain more times than not. That is why now we all have campers, NO MORE TENTS!!

All the kids playing while we fixed dinner

We think this was the funniest picture of the whole weekend. Little Kaylin pushing big ole Camryn on the four wheeler. Notice both of them have nigh nights in their mouths.

Lindsey and Kaylin feeding some ducks that walked upon our camp.

I have all the kids in our camper, when we came off the boat because the storm coming. Cadyn preceded to tell me "You guys need a bigger camper" Camryn is like "I can't take it anymore" Kaylin just thought she would help herself to Camryn's sipping cup.

Here are Lindsey and Cadyn swimming in the cold lake

Camryn wanted to get in the water also. He just kicked his feet in the water. Notice the rope tied to the lifejacket

Kalyin fell alseep on the boat ride and slept through all the noise of the other 3 playing in the water. She looks pretty comfy.

First Steps

Kaylin has begun to take her first steps. Last Friday when I picked her up from daycare they said she had taken about 5 steps. I was sad because I missed the first steps. But so goes it, I missed Lindsey's first steps also. Oh, well. Don't have any pictures but I did get her on video last weekend while we were camping of her walking. She now will stand up and try to walk before she crawls. It is funny to watch. She is so short. My calm life (yeah right), as we know it is over. It has been hard enough keeping up with her just crawling.

Camping trip was fun. I will post more about that later.

Bugz Program

Lindsey had her last program of the year last Thursday, May 22. The theme of the program was Bugz. As you can see in the picture all the kids made hats that had different bugs on them. they sang songs about picnics, lady bugs, and ants. They all had lines to say. They all did a great job. Lindsey said her lines very well. I was not sure if she was going to speak very loud but you couldhear her loud and clear. After the program we all went back to their classroom and Mrs. Thiessen handed out individual awards and we had a picnic in the room. We had hot dogs, chips, and ice cream. I was a fun morning. I wish I could have taken Lindsey home, but I had to go back to work.

Lindsey is in the middle of the top row. I think the bug she has on her head is a stink bug.

Last picture as Kindergarteners. Cadyn, Jill, Lindsey and me. It is hard to believe they are already done with Kindergarten and ready to go into 1st grade. Lindsey is so excited she does not have to Kindergarten homework anymore. I told her "but you will have 1st grade homework to do". She said "That is ok, I can do 1st grade homework". It should be a fun 1st grade year. Do I have any takers in coming and helping with homework. Don't be scared it is fun to do. NOT!!!!!!!! I don't think they realize how stressful it is on the parents.

I thought I would share this, the first day of Kindergarten. They look so little.

Here they are at the end of Kindergarten. Acting silly as usual. Look out 1st grade here they come.

Finally the Padres Got to Play a Game

Finally, after all the rain outs Lindsey's baseball team got to play their first official game. Her team is the Padres and they played the Angels today. It is so much fun to watch, I get a little excited because I want them to do well, and I have keep in mind they are only 6 year old. There a few boys on her team that can really hit the ball. They play machine pitch, they get 5 pitches and if they don't hit off the machine then they get 3 tries off the tee. We have 3 games next week, with one make up game. Here are some pics from today.

Nothin' Like a Blackeye

Yesterday afternoon Lindsey went over to Cadyn's house to play. She had been buggin us about going over to play. They have not seen much of each other than at school. They begin to go through withdrawal. Well, I took her over there around 5:00 and came back home with Kaylin. We waited for Jeff to get home so I could go to the grocery store, just as I left my phone rang and Jeff said for to go over to Jill's house because Lindsey had been hurt and she thought she needed stitches. Well, my first thoughts were cut on the arm, leg, foot I flew down the dirt road. When I got there Jill was holding her with a wet rag over her eye. Cadyn and Lindsey had been hitting golf balls in their front yard and Cadyn went to swing and Lindsey just happen to be standing to close. We took her to the ER and after 4 hours, xrays, and a cat scan, they confirmed nothing was broken and she didn't even get stitches. She was so worried she was going to have to have stitches. She kept asking on the way to the ER if it was going to hurt. She was very good when they did the x-rays and especially good during the cat scan. She was my big brave girl. I was more nervous, I think than she was.
Cadyn was very upset that he hurt his friend. It is ok Cadyn, accidents happen. Lindsey is going to be ok.

In the car ready to go the ER

4 hours after being in the ER

Picture of it this morning. It swelled a lot overnight.

Ridin' Like A Big Girl

Last Thursday night Jeff and Lindsey were cutting up a tree that fell down at the bottom of our land. I was going to try and get a picture of them working but they were done. So when Kaylin and I loaded up in the car I put her in the passenger seat and buckled her in. I try holding her while I drive, in our field or down the dirt road. I not a bad mommy, she does ride in a car seat normally. She kind of liked being in the seat by herself. She thought she was something else.

Ready to go.

"Just Chillin"

Daddy's Little Fishergirl

Jeff took Lindsey last Sunday down to a friends house that a creek runs through his property. They went there to catch some small bass that had been seen. When they came back home they had a bucket full of perch. Jeff said he only caught about 3 of them, Lindsey caught the rest. She is a good luck charm. Everytime she goes fishing with her Daddy they come back with a mess of fish.

Kindergarten Graduation

Lindsey Nicole Bowers
Central Park Elementary
Kindergarten Graduation
2007-2008

This is Lindsey Kindergarten graduation picture. Can not believe she is almost done with her first year of school. It has been fun learning along with her. I can not believe the things she has learned. I don't think I learned half of what she has learned until I was in 2nd grade, neither did Jeff. The year has gone by so fast, but I know she is ready for summer break.

On a side note, we were suppose to have a baseball game tonight but the rain got us again. We have yet to play an official baseball game. She has one on Saturday so maybe I will have pictures to post then.

Here I Am

Well, I have done it. I have created a blog. My friend Jill started hers and I enjoy reading about her and her family. I also read other blogs that she reads. So, I thought I would do it myself, just so all of my extended family can keep up with us. Hope you enjoy reading and keeping up with us. Don't know if I will post everyday but I will try to post at least once a week maybe twice. Enjoy.
