It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!!!!

This past Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch with the Meredith family. Jill and I have kind of taken Lindsey and Cadyn since they were little and it was time to get Camryn and Kaylin in on the tradition. So, after afternoon naps we loaded up and headed to Pea Ridge. It was fun. We got to go to a back field where you could pick your own pumpkin. There were so many pumpkins the kids did not know which one to pick.

When we first got there they gave us a wagon and some clippers to cut the pumpkin vine. The kids liked the wagon ride and boy and I glad we had that wagon. I was a long walk and it would have been a longer walk having to carry the babies.

We all were like little kids in a candy shop, "Which one do we choose" Finally we got our pumpkins and head out. Kaylin was following along behind everyone. She thought she was just as big, until she would get tangled up in the pumpkin vines. Lindse had to go back and help her find her way out. Some of plants were as big as she was, as you can see.

They had a little area set up to where you could take pictures, we both sat down and our family pictures taken. Below is ours

After you paid for you pumpkins you got to go on a free hayride. The kids were excited about that and Camryn finally got to ride with the tractor. The boy loves tractors. He rode on the trailer with all of us but that was good enough for him. Kaylin loved it. She would stand up at the back of the trailor and just lean against the wall. She thought she was big stuff.

We were the first ones on the trailer. Dusty and Jill had to get Camryn to get on the trailor instead of getting on the tractor itself.

After we had our feel of pumpkins and hayrides we went to eat. It was a fun family outing and we will probably go back as long as they have the pumpkin patch.

Cave Springs Days

During Cave Springs days, Lindsey was in the Tiny Tot Contest. She did not win the title but she did a good job. They got all the contestants on the stage and then read over their bio's. She had fun. Then all the contestants got to ride in the parade on a float. I think she was more excited about that than the contest itself. Ever since then she has asked when she gets to ride in another parade.
After the parade we headed to Elkins for Cannon's 1st birthday party. It was fun until Lindsey and another little boy got hurt riding Cannon's new wagon down the hill into the barb wire fence. All wounds have healed and it is laughable now. One thing is for sure we will never forget Cannon's 1st birthday: a wagon wreck and then the Hogs got wrecked by the Longhorns.
It was a busy, but fun day.

Here she is upon the stage. She was the tallest kid up there. She looked so big.

Giving a wave to the crowd!!

Silver Dollar City

Jill and I decided to take Lindsey and Cadyn one last time to Silver Dollar City before the weather was to cold, last Saturday. What made it even better, was Jill had gotten some free passes from a family friend and since Lindsey and I already had season passes, it was going to cost us nothing to get in. Jill's mom kept Camryn and Aunt Jill kept Kaylin for me. So it was just the four of us. We only rode one wet ride and Lindsey and I rode Powder Keg. Most of the time we stayed in the area where most of the kiddy rides are. I think they both had fun but by the end of the day they were ready to go. Maybe we will all go back during the Christmas time.

This is a catepiller ride in the Kiddy area. They thought they were big stuff because they go to stand in line by themselves and ride by themselves. Kaylin and Camryn would have loved it, but there is that "standing in line waiting our turn and not wanting to get off"thing. Jill and I were glad we did not bring them this time. Maybe next year.

The Jailbirds
As we were leaving we passed by the Silver Dollar City jail. We tought it would be funny get a picture. We should have put them there earlier in the day and come back and get them when it was time to go. Just kidding.

Tailgator

Last Friday night was the annual tailgator at Lindsey's school. So Jill and I loaded up all the kids and went. They had popcorn, snowcones, popcicle, blow up jumpers, rock wall, face panting, and a whole lot more. It was fun to watch the kids have fun. When we first got there we immediately got in line for the jumping things. It was a good idea because by the time we were through the lines were so long, it would have been a long wait. After they played we got in line for the Chick-fil-A dinner. Then the kids wanted popcor and popcicles. By the time we did all that the little kids were ready to go. It was gettin close bedtime. It was fun, we will probably go again next year.

Lindsey and Cadyn go the picture taken with the Chick-fil-A cow.

Lindsey sliding down

Kaylin taking her turn. She had fun. Afterwards she had the hard time of learning you had to get off.

The two "brats" confined to the strollers. They enjoyed jumping on the blow ups, but just could not grasp you had to wait in line for your turn. They would throw a pitching fit. Jill and I used all the energy we had to contain them. So they got to sit and watch until Lindsey and Cadyn were done.

Lindsey wanted to climb the rock wall. She did not get very far, but I am proud of her for wanting to try. Way to go Lindsey!!!!

County Fair

Last Friday night we went to the County Fair. It has been an annual event since Lindsey was born. NO, we did not kill any baby chicks this year. For those who know about how Lindsey killed a baby chick one year, Kaylin was nice to them. We met the Merediths at McDonald's in Centerton, ate dinner and headed to the fair. It was fun to watch the kids ride the rides but it did seem a little short on rides for kids this year. While we were there big black clouds loomed towards the south, yep it rained on us. Not for long, we did not get to wet. But before we could make it back to our cars a couple of hours later it was raining pretty good and we were all soaked by the time we got back to the cars.

Getting tickets for the rides.

Cadyn and Lindsey going down the big slide. Cadyn was a little nervous at first then he got the courage up to go down the slide. They were having fun.

Lindsey doing a big wheelie on the motorcycle ride.

Kaylin did get to ride one ride. Jeff took her on the merry-go-round. She had fun. Next year she will get to ride more.
Also, while we were there we ran into Lindsey's friend Erika and her parents. Lindsey and Erika have known each other since they were babies. They have been together in the same day care until they went to Kindergarten last year. We still keep in touch with Erika, and months can go by until they see each other again and when they do it is like they see each other day at school. They don't miss a beat. I think they will be friends for a long time. It was good seeing you Erika, Natalie and Brian.

Gettin' Ready for School

We were messing around in Lindsey's room one night and we had out this little backpack she had gotten a few years ago. It is so little and cute. Kaylin had an interest in it, so I thought I would put it on her. As you can see in the picture the backpack is just as big as she is. I told her to go show Daddy and that is just what she did. She marched herself down the hallway to our bedroom to show Daddy. It was so cute I just thought I would share. She thought she was big stuff.

This will probably be our first day of school picture. Just she will have on regular clothes. Oh, yes the nigh night will be there. Just kidding, I hope we have broken the nigh night habit by then.

Last Camping Trip for the Year

See I told you I would only post about every couple of weeks or so. Sorry for delaying any entertainment our family provides for you.

Anyways on with the blog. Like I started we took our last camping trip of the year a couple of weeks ago, and boy am I glad it was the last. It was relaxing, but we were busy. We went out on Thursday night and got up early Friday morning. Lindsey still had school and Jeff and I still had to come into work. It was a long day because I knew I was going to get to relax a little for the weekend and not have to worry about anything with the house work. Well, Jeff got up Saturday morning and went fishing. The girls and I layed around for a little and then I figured I would get up and start getting things ready for breakfast. Lindsey was riding her bike and Kaylin was "helping" me. I asked Lindsey to watch her for just a minute, her reaction was typical of any six year old "AW MOM". So I took Kaylin inside with me in the camper, it was a cool morning so I just had the screen door open. And if you just think screen door, camper screen door and 15 month old. Yep you guess it, just one little push from Kaylin and the door flung open and down she rolled 3 metal steps, with non-slip gritty pading on them. When I got to the door she was already at the bottom. Her face looked like someone had taken sandpaper and just sanded her face. Crying did not last long. She is one tough little booger. After that I was able to get breakfast started. The day went by pretty fast and that late afternoon we came in to Camryn's birthday party and headed back out later that evening. It stormed early Sunday morning but it was clear by the time it was time to get up. We ate breakfast and loaded everything up and came home. It was a quick weekend, but it was nice to get away for one last time for summer.

This is how Kaylin spent most of her time when we were outside. She loves that wagon. If she had someone to pull all day, she would ride all day.

It was getting dark when I took this picture, but Lindsey rode the tires off her bike that weekend. She would get going fast and then skid on her tires. She has bald spots on the back tire. We are going to have to replace before to long. She has really just gotten the hang of riding a bike this summer. She has come a long way in just a couple of months

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend

We did not do much this weekend. We just kind of hung out at home. The girls played outside all weekend long and I did catch up on house work. Jeff powerwashed the whole outside of the house. Living on a dirt road it can get pretty dirty. Saturday afternoon I went to the store to get groceries, Jeff called me to see what I was getting for dinner and we decided on brats. So we got them grilled and ate on the deck and listened to the Razorback game. It was a nail biter, but I am glad they won. Hope they play better in two weeks or it will be a bad thing. While we were cooking the girls were playing on the swing set. I think the swing set gets more play time now that Kaylin likes to play on it. She has become our little monkey climber. While playing she ate dirt, grass and Jeff said she also ate rocks. This girl will eat anything.

Our little female version of PIGPEN!!! They were have a ball playing. I pull this picture up on my desktop and you can really see all of the dirt and grass.

Here is out little monkey. We really have to watch her now, because when she is outside she will disappear around the house and before we know it she is climbing up the ladder. She just started this, this weekend. She is really trying to do what ever big sis does now. She is catching up fast.

Sunday we went to my mom's for burgers and hot dogs. Scotty, Leann, Emma and Cannon came. Cannon is getting bigger, but he is so stinkin skinny. He is a cutie. Can not wait for his birthday at the end of the month.
Today Jeff finished the house and I took the girls to the mall to walk a round and I had to return something to The Children's place. We got some jeans for both of them and they played on the little play park. Like I said not a big weekend. We are getting ready to go camping this coming weekend. We tried to get a place for this weekend but could not find a place open. This will probably be our last outing for the year. Next year will have to break the new camper in real good. Hope everyone had a great week and try to stay dry this week. Hopefully Gustav won't bring to much rain.

Over The Rainbow

Thursday night last week is was raining. The sun was shining and it was misting. I was cooking dinner and Lindsey and Jeff came in to tell me to come out and look. When I first saw it, is was a double rainbow. One rainbow on top of another rainbow. The lower rainbow was really bright. You could see where it ended in the tree line in the field in front of out house. The other end ended behind the house across the road. We tried to get Lindsey to go ask the neighbor if she could go and find the pot of gold. I don't think she believed us.

I AM BACK!!!!!!

Sorry have not posted in a while. We have had computer problems. We could not log on to the internet and then we could not get e-mail anymore. I have never felt so disconnected. It is really sad we have come to depend on computers so much these days. Below I have posted what has been going on. Hope everyone's summer has been a great one. Hope you enjoy catching up with us.

First Day of First Grade

Well, we have started school again. This year we are in 1st grade. Try saying 1st day of 1st grade 5 times real fast. It is a tongue twister. I don't think Lindsey was nervous at all. I was a little scared and excited at the same time. I took Kaylin to daycare first and then we came back to Lindsey's school and went inside to wait for a little bit. I think that helped with the nerves. Just hanging out before she would go to her classroom. So far so good for the first week. We will see once they really get into the full swing of things. I can not believe my baby girl is growing up so fast. She keeps telling me "I know mom, I am in First Grade"

Before we left the house

Before she went into the school

Lindsey with her teacher this year, Mrs. Pannell. She says she really likes her and she says she is really nice.

Jill picked up Lindsey on the first day of school. I just thought she would have fun visiting with Cadyn after the first day. Jill took a picture of them so we can compare at the end of the school year to see how much they change.

New Camper Maiden Voyage

We took the camper out for a week Aug 3 through Aug 9. We went camping with the Meredith Family. It was fun. It was very hot early in the week but by Thursday it turned out to be very nice. It was cool but not cool enough not to still enough swimming. I think Lindsey could have stayed in the water all day and all night. While we camping we decided to take Lindsey and Cadyn to Silver Dollar City on that Wednesday. We left the babies with my mom and Jill's mom. It was a fun day, but by the time it was time to go we were all ready. We camped out at Lost Bridge so Friday night we decided to go to Across the Creek Resturant for a seafood buffet. It was good, and because we did not have to cook anything. They had to roll us out of the resturant because we all ate so much.

Just a few pics from the trip

All of us in the water cooling off

Kaylin did not like her lifejacket very well. Just wish they made better jackets for babies that small. After a while she was ok. We got her in and out of the water acting like she was jumping off the back of the boat. I would put her in the water while Jeff would catch her. She liked that a lot.

Lindsey doing her CANNON BALL off the boat

Cadyn doing his backward jump

Camryn was our little fish. He would jump in and would start swimming on his own. He did not care. I think he would have swam all over the lake if we would have let him.

One of the days while we were camping the mower people came to mow the grass. I had Kaylin and Camryn in our camper while Jill had to take care of some things in their camper. To keep them occupied they were watch the "tractors" mow. That was right up Camryn's alley. Kaylin liked it too. It was fun, they both just yelled and laughed as loud as they could.

Padres Last Ball game

Saturday July 19th was Lindsey's last baseball game. She had a great game. All the team hit the ball very well. You could tell that they came a long way from the beginning of the season.

The weekend before on July 12th she played Cadyn's team. I know I mentioned it before but she road home with Jeff in the truck and she was worn out. She had spent the night with her Grammy on Friday and her cousin Emma was there also. I think they stayed up all night.

The picture below was taken when they got home. Jeff said she fell asleep before they got out of the parking lot.

Just had to add this

She was sawing some serious ZZZZZ's

Class of 1993 BHS Reunion

Last night was Jeff's 15 year class reunion, one of the girls he graduated with had it at her house. About 25 people came that graduated together, then you count the spouses so there were about 35 people. It was fun. Jill and I always give them a hard time because we can not believe we, as Mounties, go to a Tiger function. It is all in good fun. They made us put on name tags and they had a tiger head on them and we wanted to draw a little blue mountie head next to it. While the guys caught up with thier classmates we talked with one of their wives and it turned out we worked with her at the home office. What a small world it is. It was fun meeting the people that Jeff went to school with and hear stories of what they did, eventhough I already know most of the stories.

Busy as Bees

It has been a busy last two weeks. We have finished up baseball and Lindsey went to Vacation Bible school all last week. Lindsey had her last game yesterday. It was so hot. Jeff sat out and watched while Kaylin and I sat in the car with the AC running. It was just to hot to get her out for any length of time. I guess you can say that the Dog Days of Summer are finally upon us. Just be thankful for all the rain that we have had or it could be worse.
VBS started last Monday and ran through Friday. Lindsey's friend came on Tuesday and then she invited Cadyn to come on Thursday and Friday. Friday night all the groups sang a special song and then it was outside for fun, food and games. I would have taken some pictures but Jeff and I were to busy chasing after Kaylin. Yes, she just thinks she can go anywhere now that she is walking. She is so much fun.
We only have 4 more weeks until school starts. Lindsey is getting excited about being in the 1st grade.

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone had a happy 4th and a safe one. We did not do much. We tried to go and watch fireworks but Lindsey does not like the noise so it was not much fun. She likes to look at them, but if they were just silent fireworks, she would like it much better. Maybe next year. Kaylin did not seem to mind. That was about the only time she was still, when the fireworks were going off.

Yesterday Jill and Dusty invited us to go out to the lake on their boat. It was a fun day. Kaylin seemed to like the water, as long as I was holding her. She would splash a little bit. Lindsey swam her little heart out. Debbie and Donnie Beard meet us out there with their pontoon so while people were tubing with th Meredith's boat, the rest of us were on the "Mother Ship", that is was we called it.

Jill and Dusty's boat

The rest of us on the Pontoon. It was nice, because Kaylin could walk around a little bit better. And of course she had to have her nigh night.

Our new house on wheels

We have traded our little pop up camper for a travel trailer with a slide out. The pop up was too small for all 4 of us and now we have more room than we know what to do with.

Old Camper

NEW CAMPER

View from front of camper. Our bed is at the front. The door you see is to the bathroom. To the left of that are twin bunk beds. Where Lindsey will sleep. Then you see the fridge, stove and oven and then the sink. On the right is the table and in front of that is a couch.

This view is from the bathroom door. See a little bit of the couch on the left and our bed behind the entertainment center. It will be nice when we go camping now, we won't be stepping on each other.

View from where the door is. It has an awning but we did not roll it out.

Padres Picture

This is Lindsey in her ball uniform. She plays for the Padres. She has done very well this year. She can hit that ball better than some of the boys on her team. I think she might play softball next year. She says she wants to play with girls instead of boys. Hopefully she will be as good as her momma was. And I mean WAS. Oh yeah, yes that is her black eye, the Saturday after the golf club accident the night before.
